All of them are quite new, still to improve and very important for our future life. We will be more technology addicted people for sure and we will live more effective and more efficient at the same time, however we have still one major limitation with us "Energy Storage-Battery" and unfortunately this technology is not developing faster enough.
Over the last 2 decades, Electronics has been developed with logarithmic speed, beginning of 1990's there was or no cell phone or no internet in our lives, we were chatting in the cafes, talking with cable phones every nights with our friends, only limited number of people owned personal desktops in homes, notebooks are quite expensive and only for big business men. No Tablets, No wearable gadgets, basically it was like right after the stone age :)
Also, beginning of 90s, there was very big change on Battery Technology, which we noticed we started to use Lithium-Ion technology for consumer use applications with Sony in 1991*
Since that time, cell phone was invented, Internet took his part from our life. Notebook(s) are now in every houses. Cell phones combined with Internet and turned to smart phones. Tablet and phablet arrived very quickly right after, wearable gadgets are coming heavily etc... but we are still using Lithium-Ion battery technologies with most of them. Of course with more efficient way than 90s, however technology and logic is still same and our smart phones can not stand even 1 full day with us without second charge or Notebooks could resist only 5-6 hours in best case and everyday new mobile devices are coming into our lives and the worst thing is that everyone of them has own sockets, there is no universal solutions for this and not will be for sure.
We have to carry our chargers with us all the time or we have to buy minimum 2-3 different chargers for minimum 2-3 different devices for different locations; Office, Home, Car... TO Complicated... :(
It seems that Lithium-Ion Technology will remain with us next 3-5 years, because there is nobody who is talking about alternative technology developments. So if we have to live with the limitation of this technology at least we have to find to easier way to live with it, right?
Wireless Power is coming strongly as alternative solution. Wireless Charger will be the key technology for next 3-5 years for our lives.
There is too many semiconductor companies have already invested a lot of money to development effective and efficient solutions, such as Freescale, NXP, OnSemi, Toshiba, TI, IDT etc. since 2010 and They claim that it quite is easy to integrate this technology for our lives. However since 5 years almost nobody is using it, why? why we should suffer today to carry all devices with us?
As always, We need a trigger and this trigger should come from Smart Phone Manufacturers. Most probably after Apple or Samsung decided to use this technology, we will start to feel affect very quickly and I strongly believe that it will not stay for only smart phones, tablets, notebooks, wearables and all kind of mobile devices manufacturers will start to integrate this technology into their applications. Let's hope that they would use universal standards.
So they could integrate this simple technology into their devices however they will not build charging stations in our Offices, Cafes, Restaurants, Cars or anywhere on this world. 3rd party companies will start to earn money together with this business, China and Chinese manufacturers definitely will earn a lot, however there will be some time for them need to adapt themselves for every country's needs. If someone, who could see this trend from today and be ready before technology arrives, That one(s) will earn good money :) And, we as users, will spend less money to buy chargers and more relieved to find charging stations in everywhere we go.
